(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Sunday, August 23, 2015 at approximately 12:21 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a resident reporting that a pick-up truck belonging to the Municipality of Meaford appears to have been abandoned on his property on Pearson Street in Meaford.
Investigation revealed that the truck, a red 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, bearing the Municipality of Meaford crests on the doors and containing a 200 gallon water tank in the box of the truck, had been reported stolen to Grey County OPP earlier in the day.
Sometime between 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 22nd and 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 23rd, unknown person(s) forcibly entered the garage at the Municipality of Meaford Works Department located on Collingwood Street and removed the truck.
Police located a pair of JVC stereo speakers inside the truck which did not belong to the Municipality.
