STOLEN GLIDER RECOVERED IN WELLINGTON COUNTY

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – A stolen glider from Southgate Township has been recovered in Wellington County resulting in the arrest of two men on October 15th and 16th, 2014, respectively.

The 25’, 1977 Schempp-hirth glider plane and trailer, valued at $27,000, and an older model Kubota tractor, with an attached snow blower, valued at $2,000, were reported stolen to Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on March 28, 2014. The break, enter and theft occurred from an outbuilding on a vacant rural property on Southgate Rd. 24 in the Township of Southgate.

As a result of an ongoing investigation, Grey County OPP Crime Unit with the assistance of Wellington County OPP and the Wellington County OPP Street Crime Unit, recovered the stolen glider at the York Soaring Club in Belwood, Ontario. Members of the York Soaring Club assisted police with the investigation.

Kyle Jordan BOSSENCE, age 23, of Maple Township, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and fail to comply with a probation order.

Ronald John BOSSENCE, age 47, of Centre Wellington Township, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court in Guelph, Ontario on Thursday, November 25, 2014.

The Kubota tractor is still outstanding. Police continue to investigate.
