STOFFERS – 156 in an 80

(SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On December 7, 2016 at approximately 10:00 a.m. a member of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle on County Road 27 traveling at a high rate of speed; 156 Km/h in a posted 80 Km/h zone.

This motor vehicle was stopped and a Police investigation into the driver and vehicle revealed that the driver was unable to provide a valid insurance card, or a the permit for the motor vehicle and this motor vehicle did not have a valid validation tag on its Ontario Licence Plate.

Charged with “Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed”, “Speeding”, Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle” and “Drive Motor Vehicle, no validation on Plate” all under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario is Sean R. STOFFERS 38 years old from Springwater Twp. OPP have also charged the defendant with “Fail to Surrender Insurance Card” under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act of Ontario.

In addition the defendant’s Ontario Drivers’ Licence was suspended for 7 days and the above motor vehicle was impounded also for 7 days.
