(Hwy# 62, Belleville) – On February 19, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway # 62 at Maitland Drive in the City of Belleville. A vehicle travelling southbound on Highway #62 rear ended another southbound vehicle which had been slowing down for a red light at the intersection of Maitland Drive.
As a result of the investigation, the driver of the southbound vehicle that caused the collision, 58 year old Stewart CARMAN of Belleville, ON was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle by Drug.
Carman’s vehicle was towed and he was issued a 90 day automatic driver’s licence suspension. He was released from custody on a Promise to Appear with a court date of March 9, 2017.
