(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On May 3, 2016, at 9:32 p.m., members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a south bound all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on Lake Joseph Road in Seguin Township. The male driver was seen to not be wearing a helmet. Police initiated a traffic stop and the officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Michel ST-JULIEN, 59 years of age from Etobicoke, was arrested and charged with:
Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
Driving while under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
Fail to wear proper helmet contrary to the Off Roads Vehicle Act (ORVA).
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on May 19, 2016 to answer to his charges.
The OPP are reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
