Speeding Leads To Cigarette Seizure

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment has charged a 51 year old male with Possession of unmarked cigarettes after conducting a traffic stop at a Talbot St. Canfield, Haldimand County, ON address.

On Sunday March 29th, 2015 at approximately 1:00 pm an officer was conducting speed enforcement in the Village of Canfield when a green 1997 Pontiac car appeared to be exceeding the speed limit. As a result the vehicle was stopped and while the officer was speaking with the driver a large quantity of unmarked cigarettes was detected and seized.

Charged with Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, Possess unmarked cigarettes and Possess Unmarked Cigarettes for Sale contrary to the Tobacco Tax Act is 51 year old Guy LAROCQUE of Niagara Region, ON. He is to appear in Provincial Court, Cayuga, ON at a later date to answer to the charges.
