(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Monday March 28, 2011 at approximately 7 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer was conducting radar patrol on Hwy. 7 (Elginfield Rd).
The officer observed a fast moving west bound vehicle which was subsequently locked-in on the police radar in excess of the posted speed limit.
While speaking with the driver the officer detected a strong odour of freshly burnt cannabis marijuana inside the vehicle. Cannabis marijuana was handed over by the driver and a search of the vehicle turned up other marijuana paraphernalia.
Jonathan Reiger (20) from Stratford was served an Appearance Notice for a charge of Possession of Schedule II Cannabis Marijuana contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Stratford Provincial Court on April 26, 2011 to answer to this charge.
