(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Sunday June 19, 2011, shortly before 11 a.m., a Perth County OPP officer was on patrol along Perth Line 20 between Highway 7 and St.Pauls. The officer observed an extremely fast moving motorcycle travelling west bound on Perth Line 20. The motorcycle was locked in on radar at 177 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
A second OPP officer was able to safely pull over and stop the motorcyclist in front of Downie Central School. As a result of travelling 97 km above the posted limit, a 47 year old male from Kitchener will have to appear in Stratford court on July 26, 2011 to answer to the charge of racing a motor vehicle. The male’s driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and his motorcycle was towed from the scene and impounded for a week.
