(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Thursday February 09, 2012 at approximately 9:30 a.m. an OPP officer driving south bound on Perth Road 140 east of Listowel observed an approaching fast moving north bound motor vehicle.
The officer activated his police radar and locked the vehicle’s speed at 139 km/h, which is 59 km above the 80 km/h posted speed limit. The motorist, a 66 year old male from Cambridge was issued a summons for “racing a motor vehicleâ€Â. He is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on March 08, 2012 to answer to this charge. The man’s driver’s licence was seized and has been returned to the Ministry of Transportation, it is suspended for 7 days. The vehicle being operated by the male, a 2004 Lexus was towed and has been impounded for a period of 7 days.
