(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Tuesday April 10, 2012 shortly after 11 a.m., an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer driving west bound on Perth Line 55 West of Monkton observed an approaching east bound minivan travelling at a high rate of speed.
The officer activated the police radar and locked the vehicle’s speed at 134 km/h which is 54 km above the 80 km/h posted speed limit. The motorist, a 38 year old female from North Huron Twp, was issued a summons for “racing a motor vehicleâ€Â. She is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on May 22, 2012 to answer to this charge. The female’s driver’s licence was seized (suspended for 7 days), and has been returned to the Ministry of Transportation. The 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan was towed and has been impounded for 7 days.
