(HALIBURTON, ON) – On February 25, 2014 Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 35 in the Township of Minden Hills Ontario. OPP were advised that a small white car was travelling at a very high rate of speed through the Miners Bay 60 km/h zone. Police were able to locate and stop the speeding vehicle just south of Minden. Police also conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered 57 grams of marihuana. The driver of the vehicle, Sherifi SELAMI age 20 from Mississauga Ontario was charged with the following:
Speeding 117 km/h in a posted 80 km/h
Driving with Open Liquor
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marihuana >30 grams
The male is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden Ontario on April 14, 2014.
