Speeder Caught Going 184 in a 100

(South Glengarry) – On January 5, 2016 at approximately 12:01am, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Mathieu COLLIN (23) of Saint-Zotique, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on March 2, 2016.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(South Glengarry/Stormont) – On January 4, 2016 – SD&G OPP officers conducting speed measuring enforcement in South Glengarry/Stormont Townships intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. In both stops, the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– January 4, 2016 – 11:28am (South Glengarry); vehicle stopped on County Road 34 travelling 135km/h (80km/h zone). Male driver (66) from North Glengarry Township charged accordingly.

– January 4, 2016 – 3:11pm (South Stormont); vehicle stopped on Highway 401 travelling 184km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (26) from Gosport, England charged accordingly.
