On September 6, 2016 at 9:50 p.m., police received a driving complaint in the area of Homer Watson Boulevard and Ottawa Street south, in Kitchener. A 30 year Guelph man was operating a motor vehicle at a high rate of speed with the front passenger tire flat and the rim causing sparks as he drove south bound on Homer Watson.
The driver proceeded to drive failing to stop for police and was travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was weaving in and out of traffic and into oncoming traffic when it finally came to stop on Homer Watson Blvd. The male fled on foot and was arrested. There were no injuries or motor vehicle collisions as a result of this incident. The male driver was arrested and being held for a bail hearing charged with several criminal and Highway Traffic act offences.
