(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a theft from a Highway 59, Long Point, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Monday, December 28, 2014, in the early morning hours, unknowns attended Highway 59 and Lakeshore Road and proceeded to remove a VerMac Solar powered traffic control system.
The traffic control system was located at the side of the roadway and directed traffic for the installation of the underground turtle crossing.
The unit is described as bright orange in colour and is a single axle trailer parked on three separate jack assemblies.
The theft is estimated at approximately $15,000 dollars.
The Norfolk County OPP Detachment is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
