Snowy Weather = Crashes In Perth County

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) With the snowfall on the weekend the Perth County OPP officers responded to numerous collisions.
From Friday evening February 10, 2012 at 4 p.m. until the early hours of Saturday morning, officers responded to 9 collisions. The majority of crashes involved drivers losing control of their vehicles, sliding off the roadway and entering ditches. In a couple of instances the vehicles rolled or struck trees. One collision involved two vehicles while only one of the nine crashes resulted in a persons being transported to hospital.

This personal injury collision occurred on Perth Line 55 east of Monkton on Friday evening at 10:20 p.m. A Honda sedan with two occupants from the Municipality of North Perth slid off the roadway and struck a tree. The 24 year old female passenger of the vehicle was transported to Listowel Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released.

Perth County OPP officers responded to seven more additional collisions on Saturday and Sunday but they were also minor in nature.

Drivers are reminded that we may have been spoiled with good driving conditions this winter, but it is not over yet. Remember “as weather conditions change, so do road conditions”. Slow down and take time to ensure you are well prepared to handle Perth County’s winter road conditions.
