Snowmobile Thief Runs Out Of Fuel – Barren YUNDT Charged With Theft

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Tuesday February 04, 2014, shortly before 4 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a rural address on Line 60 North West of Monkton where the resident reported the theft of a snowmobile from their property.

Investigation revealed that a male suspect had driven the blue Yamaha snowmobile down the road where the snowmobile appeared to have run out of fuel. The male suspect was observed getting into a black pickup truck which left the scene.

Shortly thereafter, officers spotted the pickup truck in Monkton and located a male matching the description of the suspect. The male was arrested and transported to the North Perth OPP Detachment in Listowel.

Barren YUNDT (21) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with “theft under $5,000”. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on Wednesday March 19, 2014, to answer to this charge. The snowmobile was recovered, and has been returned to the owner.
