Snow squall watch in effect for:

Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County

Listowel – Milverton – Northern Perth County

Stratford – Mitchell – Southern Perth County

Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County

Snow squalls are expected to develop. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snow squalls are expected to develop this afternoon and persist tonight, and into Wednesday morning for some areas.

Intense lake effect snow bands are expected to develop off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay this afternoon. The snow bands are forecast to become more organized and intensify this evening and continue overnight. Areas under the most intense portions of these bands could receive snowfall amounts 5 cm today and near 15 cm tonight.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
