6:45 AM EST Thursday 05 January 2017

Snow squall warning in effect for:

Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County

Snow squalls are occurring. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snow squalls are expected to continue east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. Local snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are likely today. Also, strong gusty westerly winds will cause extensive blowing snow and possibly whiteout conditions.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Road closures are possible.
