(KITLEY TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Thursday, May 18, 2016 at approximately 8:20 p.m., members of the Leeds County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), observed a vehicle travelling at a fast rate of speed on County Road 17. A short time later, on Kitley Line 2 approximately 300 metres from Rice Road, in Kitley Township, police discovered this vehicle had been involved in a single motor vehicle collision and the lone male driver injured.
As the driver was being transported to hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
The province’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was notified by the OPP and has invoked its mandate. Any further inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at 416-622-2342.
