(DELHI, ON) – Members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence in Delhi Ontario shortly after 7:00 p.m. on August 2, 2015 after a female called reporting being assaulted by a male suspect.
Police attended the address and the male suspect fled on foot. Police gave chase and lost sight of the suspect. At 8:04 p.m. OPP located the suspect sitting on an embankment where he was arrested without incident.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital for injuries he sustained.
The OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any inquiries should be direct to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
Members of the Norfolk County OPP Crime unit are conducting a parallel Criminal Investigation into the initial complaint and charges are pending.
