SIU Invokes Mandate

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment has arrested a robbery suspect after being involved in a personal injury collision at a Hwy #56, Hamilton, ON address.

On Monday December 21, 2015 at approximately 4:00 pm a lone male entered the Bank of Montreal Argyle St. Caledonia, Haldimand County, ON and brandished a weapon. A quantity of cash was then turned over and suspect fled the area.

At approximately 8:15 pm the robbery suspect vehicle was observed north bound on Hwy #56 were it was followed.

Hwy #56 was closed due to a fatal collision being investigated by Hamilton Police Service. The suspect vehicle then collided with a vehicle at the existing collision scene.

As a result of the collision the occupants of the vehicle sustained injury and were transported to hospital for treatment.

The robbery suspect was taken into custody and is now facing charges.

The investigation continues.
