(GANANOQUE, ONTARIO) – On Saturday, August 17, 2013 at approximately 9:23pm, officers of the Gananoque Police Service observed two dirt bikes, without any lights, who were leaving the town of Gananoque on Highway 2.
The officers attempted to follow the dirt bikes. A few minutes later, the officers located one of the bikes that had struck a concrete barrier, ejecting the operator.
The 19-year-old driver of the Gananoque area, was taken to hospital where he remains with non-life threatening injuries.
The Lansdowne detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are investigating.
The Province’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) have been notified and invoked their mandate. Further inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at 416-622-2342.
