SIU Invoke Mandate

(NAPANEE, ON) – On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at approximately 7:00 p.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Napanee detachment, attended a campground in Adolphustown, ON in response to a person barricaded in a camping trailer.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., with the assistance of OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), officers entered the trailer and the 30 year old man, from Napanee, ON, was arrested and transported to hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The province’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was notified by the OPP and has invoked its mandate. Any further inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at 416-622-2342.
