On Monday May 18, 2015 at 4:35 a.m., the Guelph Police became involved in an investigation on Arthur Street South at Elizabeth Street involving an adult male and female.
During the course of the investigation both parties were placed under arrest. While arresting the male a struggle ensued and as a result the male complained of an injury. The male was transported to the Guelph General Hospital by police. The male did not receive any treatment at that time however he returned to the hospital several days later where he was treated and released. The Guelph Police became aware of the injury to the male after his release and subsequently notified the S.I.U. The S.I.U. have invoked their mandate to investigate this matter. As always the Guelph Police continue to cooperate with the S.I.U.
No further details will be released as the matter is now under the S.I.U. investigative mandate.
