SIOUX LOOKOUT OPP LAY CHARGES IN SEVERAL INCIDENTS

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON.) The Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in multiple occurrences over the past several days.

In the early morning hours of Sunday August 11, 2013, the Sioux Lookout OPP responded a report of a break and enter at Slate Falls Airways, in Sioux Lookout. Forced entry was gained to the premises, and a large amount of cash was stolen. Suspects were later identified and charged accordingly, and the majority of the cash stolen was recovered. Charged with possession of property obtained by crime is 19 year old Larissa SHINGABIS of Cat Lake, ON, and charged with break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime is 20 year old Alex WHISKEYJACK, also of Cat Lake, ON. Both remain in custody at this time.

On afternoon of Sunday August 11th, the Sioux Lookout OPP responded to a disturbance on Sixth Avenue Sioux Lookout. The investigation revealed that a male subject assaulted another female, and during the assault, stole a ring from her. The male was also subject of previous release from prior charges. As a result, a 26 year old Sioux Lookout man has been charged with breach of probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code, one count of failing to comply with an officer in charge undertaking contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code and one count of robbery contrary to section 344(b) of the Criminal Code. The accused remains in custody at this time.

On the evening of Tuesday August 13, 2013, the Sioux Lookout OPP responded to a complaint of a disturbance on Seventh Avenue in Sioux Lookout. The investigation revealed that a female assaulted a male inside the residence. A 32 year old Sioux Lookout female has been charged with assault, and remains in custody at this time. The accused will appear in Dryden bail court August 14, 2013 to answer to the charge.
