SIOUX LOOKOUT OPP LAY CHARGES IN DOWN TOWN DISTURBANCES

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON.) The Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in separate disturbances in the down town core.

On Wednesday August 7th, officers responded to a complaint about an individual who was intoxicated and threatening patrons at a community barbecue on King Street. As a result of the investigation, 35 year old Christopher CARPENTER of Sioux Lookout has been charged with one count of causing a disturbance and two counts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm. Christopher CARPENTER remains in custody and will appear in Sioux Lookout bail court on Friday August 9th.

On Thursday August 8th, officers on patrol on Front Street observed two pedestrians in an intoxicated state yelling and swearing at each other. Both were arrested for causing a disturbance. Before lodging the accused persons in cells, one of them assaulted an officer by striking the officer with a prisoner property storage bin. Charged with causing a disturbance is 21 year old Harry WHISKEYJACK, and also charged with causing a disturbance and assaulting a police officer is 21 year old Levi WHISKEYJACK, both of Sioux Lookout. Both subjects remain in custody and will appear in Sioux Lookout bail court on August 9, 2013.
