(WEST NIPISSING, ON.) – On July 6, 2015 at approximately 1:30 pm, the Noelville and Warren Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 637 in the Municipality of Killarney.
A passenger van was traveling westbound on Highway 637 when the driver was momentarily distracted due to fatigue. The vehicle hit the shoulder, rolled over and came to rest on its wheels. The single occupant of the vehicle was not injured.
Alcohol, road, and environmental conditions were not a factor in this collision.
As a result of the investigation, Neil WALKER, 25 years of age from Brampton was charged with Careless Driving contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The OPP would like to remind drivers to take several planned breaks during long trips. Operating a vehicle is a very complex task and the consequences of any type of distraction can have serious consequences.
