On March 19, 2014 at 3:07 a.m., the Guelph Police came across an unattended vehicle smashed into a pole at Gordon Street and Wellington Street. Police then observed a cab pulling out of a nearby drive a short distance away. This cab was stopped and police located the male driver and female passenger of the unattended vehicle inside the cab. Further investigation led to the arrest of that male driver.
A 20-year-old Guelph male has been charged criminally with impaired driving, drive over 80 mg and breach probation. He has also been charged with ten offences under the Highway Traffic Act and one offence under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. He will appear in court on April 8, 2014.
