(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Thursday, August 1, 2013 at approximately 9:10 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision involving an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Zion Church Road at Concession 24 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
The driver, a 24 year old male, was operating a 650 Kawasaki ATV northbound on Zion Church Road when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the west ditch and struck a tree. The driver was transported to the Wiarton Hospital where he air lifted to Victoria Hospital in London with serious, life threatening injuries.
The South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department and Grey-Bruce County Emergency Services (EMS) attended the scene.
The OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit has been called to assist Grey County OPP with the investigation.
Zion Church Road is currently closed from Grey Rd. 1 – south to Concession 21; and Concession 24 is closed from Zion Church Road – east to Gleason Lake Road for the safety of emergency responders at the scene until further notice.
