The Waterloo Regional Police Service would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their assistance in the arrest of escapee, Sidney Reid, 34 years. Reid escaped from custody on November 20, 2014. He was facing numerous drug related charges resulting from a street level drug initiative in October and November.
13 other people were arrested and charged in this initiative facing 65 criminal charges. Sidney Reid was arrested shortly after 2 pm today following a short foot pursuit. With the assistance of the Guelph Police Service canine unit, Reid was captured in the area of Wilhelm street and Weber street, Kitchener. Sidney Reid will attend a bail hearing, November 30, 2014, facing numerous charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, breach court order, escape lawful custody, resist arrest and assault police officer.
