Shots Fired – David Gerald CAULFIELD Arrested

(Douro-Dummer Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a Webster Road address after gun shots were heard Wednesday night shortly before 11:00pm.

Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit members led an investigation which resulted in a warrant being executed at the residence. David Gerald CAULFIELD (age 55) of Lindsay, Ontario was arrested at the scene and charged with:

Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm

Possession of a loaded restricted firearm

Careless use of a firearm

Possession of a prohibited device X2 (overcapacity magazine)

Possession of a prohibited device (stun gun)

Possession firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order X2

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough, ON October 30, 2016 for a show cause hearing. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
