(Bancroft, Ontario) – On Wednesday the 24th of December 2014, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received the report of a family dispute at a residence in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. While attending the location, police received further information that a gunshot had been heard in the residence. Officers arrived at the scene and arrested an adult male.
A 40 year old male of the Municipality of Hastings Highlands has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was released from bail court with conditions and his next court appearance is scheduled for the 13th of January 2015, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft, Ontario.
The investigation is a domestic incident and the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
