(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a complaint from a local retail store on Thursday April 28, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. after staff confronted two men stealing items from the store. The men made off with approximately $150.00 worth of products and fled in a vehicle that was waiting outside.
Police received information from several community partners about the location of the vehicle as the occupants were behaving in a suspicious manner and ultimately the suspects were located and arrested at a residence on Manitoba Street, Bracebridge.
Police have charged 24 year-old Brandon CONDREY of Bracebridge with Theft Under $5000 CC 334(b) and Failing to Comply with a Recognizance CC 145(3) and he will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 3, 2016. Also charged is 28 year-old Tyler GROSS of Huntsville with Theft Under $5000 CC 334(b) and Driving While Disqualified CC 259(4). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 10, 2016.
Bracebridge OPP would like to recognize the members of the community that were vigilant to their surrounds and called police with their concerns regarding the suspicious activity that ultimately led to the apprehension of the men responsible.
