(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 27, 2015 at approximately 8:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from an employee at the Foodland Grocery Store located on Main Street South in Mount Forest, Wellington North Township, regarding a shoplifter that was in custody.
The complainant advised police that he observed a male customer place an item in his pants without making an attempt to pay for it. The complainant confronted the male when he attempted to leave the store and the item was turned over.
Investigation revealed that the male, who was intoxicated by drugs at the time of his arrest, was on conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol, drugs and any other intoxicating substance.
Donald HARPER age 24 of Grand Valley has been charged with Theft Under $5000- Shoplifting and Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on June 30, 2015 to answer to the charges.
