Shilini HEMALAL – 137 in an 80

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On February 5, 2017 at approximately 12:31 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a northbound 2013 Mazda travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 137 km/h in a 80 km/h zone.

21-year-old Shilini HEMALAL of Vaughan has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on March 1, 2017 to answer to the charge.
