(MOOSONEE, ON) – Shortly after 8:00 am on November 22, 2014 Moosonee Ontario Provincial (OPP) received a complaint of a possible impaired driver attempting to cross the Moose River in his motor vehicle.
Officers attended the McAuley’s Hill landing and observed the suspect vehicle attempting to drive in the deep snow on the shoreline of the Moose River. After a short interaction with the driver he arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Moosonee OPP Detachment for the purposes of breath tests.
As a result of this investigation Sheldon LOUTTIT (32), of Moosonee has been charged with the following offences:
Driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused has been released with a 90 day automatic driver’s licence suspension as well as on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Moosonee on January 6, 2015 to answer to these charges.
