(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On Monday, November 11, 2013, just after 8:00 a.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a 1999 black Volkswagon vehicle on Communication Road near Horton Line for having an expired validation sticker on a licence plate not authorized for the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that 48 year old Shawn COOKE of Bracebridge, ON, was a disqualified driver.
The driver was arrested and will appear in a Chatham court on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, to answer to charges of:
Driving While Disqualified and Possession of Property Obtained By Crime under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Driving While Under Suspension (x2), Use Plate Not Authorized For Vehicle
Fail To Apply For Permit On Becoming Owner under the Highway Traffic Act.
Operate A Motor Vehicle Without Insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
