(COLBORNE, ON) – On Sunday January 4, 2014 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a possible impaired driver in the Colborne area shortly before 5:00 pm.
Officers were advised that a male driver of a grey Montana van may be in the Grafton area heading towards Colborne. The vehicle was located parked on King Street East in Colborne with the lone male occupant reclined in the driver’s seat. The officer conducted an investigation into the male’s sobriety and transported him to Brighton OPP Detachment for breath tests.
Shawn CHIPLICK, 36 from Colborne, Ontario has been charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired and care and control of a motor vehicle – over 80 mgs under the Criminal Code. The accused was held in custody and has been remanded to a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 1:30 pm.
