(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Sunday, October 5, 2014 at approximately 4:55 p.m., a Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member observed a vehicle travelling at a fast rate of speed southbound on Sykes Street, in the Municipality of Meaford. The officer followed the vehicle, a 2014 Volkswagen, which continued to be driven in an erratic manner.
The vehicle was stopped on St. Vincent Street and the driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. After failing a road side breath test, the driver was taken to the Meaford OPP Detachment for further breath tests, which he failed.
Shane DENNISON, age 49, of Meaford, was charged with impaired – over 80 mgs under the Criminal Code as well as possession of marihuana under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
He is schedule to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, October 23, 2014.
