On the 21st of April 2014 in the late evening hours, Barrie Police responded to a residence just outside the downtown core in regards to a female screaming. Upon Police arrival officers determined that the female had been attacked and sexually assaulted by two males that were known to her at the time.
Members of the Barrie Police Investigative Services Unit were contacted and continued the investigation. As a result of the investigation, officers were able to collect enough evidence to positively identify the two male suspects involved in the attack.
On the 22nd of April 2014 at approximately 10am, officers with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, executed two arrest warrants on the males wanted in connection with the sexual assault. The males were located and arrested at their residence in the City of Barrie.
The 31 and 34 year old males will be held pending a bail hearing on the 23rd of April 2014.
The victim was treated in hospital, released and is currently recovering from the incident.
