Serious Motor Vehicle Collision – One Airlifted To Hospital

(CALEDON, ON) – On September 2nd, 2015 shortly after 5:30 pm, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Caledon Fire Service and EMS were called to investigate a serious collision which occurred at the intersection of Dixie Road and Old School Road.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a female driver was travelling westbound on Old School Road when she failed to stop for a stop sign and was struck by a northbound vehicle. The female driver was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by Caledon Fire and EMS. The driver was airlifted to a trauma center in Toronto and is listed in stable condition. The occupants of the northbound vehicle were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Dixie and Old School Road remained closed while Technical Traffic Investigators conducted their investigation. The roads were re-opened at 2:11 am on this date.

The investigation is still on-going.
