SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

(Otonabee South Monaghan Township, ON) – On Tuesday December 31, at approximately 2:07 p.m., members of the Peterborough County OPP., Otonabee South Monaghan Fire Department and Regional Paramedics, were called to a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred on Keene Road near Base Line Road.

Upon arrive at the scene emergency personnel discovered that two motor-vehicles had been involved in a collision on Keene road north of Base Line Road. As a result of the collision the occupants from one motor-vehicle temporarily trapped in their vehicle. Emergency personnel freed the occupants and medical care was provided at the scene.

As a result of the collision the male driver of one vehicle was transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of his injuries. The female driver of the second vehicle was transported by air ambulance to St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto for treatment of her injuries .A female passenger from the second vehicle was transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of her injuries.

The OPP Technical Collision Investigators are continuing the investigation at the scene

Keene Road remains closed at this time between County Road 2 and Base Line Road.
