Last night at approximately 8:00 pm, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received an emergency call in regards to a single motor vehicle collision on Essex Kent Road, at Tilbury West-Romney. Upon police arrival, it was learned that a black 2003 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pickup truck was traveling Southwest on Essex Kent Road where it approached a left-hand bend in the road.
The vehicle left the roadway on the right-hand shoulder, then came back onto the roadway crossing the center line into the oncoming lane, where it collided into the side of the ditch on the east side of the roadway. This caused the vehicle to rotate, ejecting the driver who has sustained serious injuries.
Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Management Section are investigating this collision. They are asking for the public’s assistance in their investigation and ask any witnesses to contact Constable Todd TRAHAN at 519-352-1092.
