(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is currently investigating a serious motor vehicle collision at a Cockshutt Road and Concession 13, Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Sunday, May, 3, 2015 at approximately 11:46 a.m., Norfolk County OPP, Norfolk County Fire Services and Norfolk County Paramedics responded to Cockshutt Road and Concession 13 for a collision involving 2 motor vehicles.
Through investigation it has been determined that a grey coloured motor vehicle being operated by a 62 year old male of Quebec, was travelling eastbound on Concession 13 when it entered the intersection and collided with a white coloured pick-up truck being operated by a 26 year old male of St Catharines, Ontario travelling southbound on Cockshutt Road.
As a result of the collision the white pick-up truck rolled several times at which time the driver was ejected. He suffered serious life threatening injuries and was transported by Paramedics to a local area hospital for treatment. He was then transported to a Hamilton Health Sciences Hospital for further assessment.
The driver of the grey coloured motor vehicle did not receive any injuries as a result of the collision.
Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.
Cockshutt Road between Concession 12 and Concession 14 and Concession 13 between Cockshutt Road and Old Mahoney road is closed for approximately 3 hours to allow for police investigation.
The investigation is continuing.
