On July 3, 2014 from 8:00am until 1:30pm members of the Waterloo Regional Police and Ministry of Transportation conducted a Commercial Vehicle Inspection blitz at Weber Street North and Applewood Rd, Woolwich Township. As a result of the special enforcement, 15 inspections were conducted resulting in 13 charges being laid, 15 warnings issued and 8 vehicles being placed out of service until defects were repaired. Some common defects were tires, insecure loads, annual inspections, defective brakes. The Waterloo Regional Police Service along with our partner agencies are committed to ensuring that safety is a top priority for all road users.
