SECOND YOUTH ARRESTED FOR BREAK AND ENTERS

(Municipality of Trent Lakes, and Selwyn Township ON) – On Wednesday September 10, members of the Peterborough County OPP, Property Crime Unit, identified three youth in relation to an ongoing investigation regarding a series of break and enter that occurred in Trent Lakes and Selwyn, during late August and early September of this year..

On Wednesday afternoon OPP Investigators arrested and charged a 16 year old male youth with several criminal charges.

On Thursday September 11, OPP officers arrested a second 16 year old male who is charged with:

Break and Enter to commit Indictable Offence X2,

Break and Enter to a Place steal Firearm

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

The investigation focused on Break and Enters that had occurred at several different addresses. During the Break and Enters, cash, two dirt bikes, an ATV and a large number of firearms had been stolen. Police have since recovered the firearms, the stolen dirt bikes and the ATV

Both youth are scheduled to appear in Youth court in Peterborough on October 27, 2014.

One other youth has been identified as a suspect in the crimes and an Arrest Warrant has issued for his arrest.

Due to the age of all the suspects their identities are being withheld.
