(CALEDON, ON) – On March 10th, 2014 officers from the Caledon Detachment were called to investigate a fraud complaint. The investigation revealed that a male had skimmed gas card information and was using the stolen information to make fuel purchases. Investigators learned that the card was used extensively between March 7th to March 10th throughout Ontario and into the Province of Quebec. The total amount of fraudulently purchased fuel exceeded $26,000.00
Caledon OPP Street Crime officers continued with the investigation which resulted in an arrest.
On October 23rd, 2014 Sean O’BRIEN, 34, of North York was arrested and charged with 3 counts each of Possession of a Credit Card and Fraud Under $5,000.
The accused was held in custody overnight and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville the following day.
