(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On April 14, 2015 at approximately 5:15 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were patrolling Wellington Road 14 near Side Road 3, Wellington North Township. A male driving a 2009 BMW was observed travelling southbound well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Scott PAYNTER age 52 of Kitchener has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 20, 2015 to answer the charge.
