School Bus Driver Charged In Collision

(DOURO-DUMMER TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a collision involving a school bus and a car near Providence Line and Division Road yesterday shortly after 4:00pm.

As the school bus proceeded northbound through the intersection it struck a car. The collision sent the smaller vehicle into the ditch where it rolled onto its side. No injuries were reported among the 9 students on the bus. The driver of the car was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the bus was charged under the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act for failing to yield.
