School Bus Driver Charged

(EAST FERRIS, ON) – On January 23, 2017 at 3:35 p.m., members of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call for service on Lake Nosbonsing Road in East Ferris Township. Initial reports indicated that a school bus had collided with a pickup truck.

OPP investigation has revealed that a school bus left a private drive into the path of a westbound pickup truck. Furthermore, there were children on the bus, but no injuries were reported in the collision.

As a result of the investigation;

Robert WILLIAMSON, 65 years of age from East Ferris Township, Ontario was charged with Left Turn – Fail To Afford Reasonable Opportunity To Avoid Collision, contrary to section 141(5) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
